Yes, despite all my efforts, I haven’t been able to convince our HR that a PMP (or even project management itself, as a discipline) has any place in our department (transportation), even though I’ve managed or been on project teams for multi-million dollar projects in my own department. About half of them think that event planning is project management, and the others understand that project management is a profession but think it only belongs in construction and IT.

As for health administration, that is an intriguing thought. When I was freelancing from 2001–2010, my clients were doctors and their practices, so I am familiar with private practice and, to the degree I’ve summarized thousands of medical records, hospitals.
