We're dog people who'd have also had cats if my husband weren't deathly allergic to them. As a couple, we've had seven: Tommy and Polly (border collies), Beggs the beagle (the only purebred we ever raised), Red the Beagle, and Zena, Jessie, and Maggie, terrier mixes. We have honor walls all seven, including the three living ones, at our house and vacation home. Like you, we will only ever have shelter dogs.
