We are dog people. Three rescue dogs share our lives with us at any given time. Since we've been married we've had eight dogs, five of whom are now gone and at the pet cemetery in Calabasas. Every time we lose one, we lose a piece of our hearts. We plan our travel around them and mostly take road trips with them in tow. We bought a second home four hours away but also just a few hours from national parks because that's how we want to travel --with and for them. Occasionally we travel without them but only if they stay with a trusted friend who lets them sleep on her bed. I get it. And yes, people who don't get it are psychos. But the reason I'm posting on this thread is in response to the cat-loving lady. Our best friends are cat people. They have about seven, most of them foster fails and former feral kitties. Their latest family member was rescued from a freeway by our friend and another kind-hearted person who stopped traffic and caught the kitty. There are cat men and cat couples just as there are cat ladies. Only people like them could be our best friends.
