This is great, thanks! My dad, in the 1960s when I was a little kid, never left the house for business or church without a hat. He gradually stopped some time in the 1970s. I think it might have also had to do with the fact that he worked as a carpenter, and never wore a hat at work, so when he dressed up he dressed up all the way.
