The way Bo watched over your father touches my heart. I find it very familiar as Tommy did the same for me. He also guarded the other dogs and stepped between them and any threats. He’d also try to mediate the rare quarrels I had with my husband.
And — I can imagine Bo is relieved, watching that game with you, that you haven’t lost your spirit of play! No matter how intelligent they are and how seriously dogs take their jobs, they never lose that spirit of childlike wonder and play.
There’s nothing in the world like being blessed with a human dog.
