We used to do a lot of camping with our pop-up tent trailer before we decided we were too old for two-inch foam beds and shared campground toilets and just started booking in dog-friendly hotels and motels and in VRBO or AirBnB properties! There are more and more dog-friendly lodgings as time goes on.
