Another writing challenge is making the rounds. I didn’t catch it at inception; I first came across it when I read the Garrulous Glaswegian’s take. She tagged and challenged a few of us to write to it.

So, here I am. Ten things about me. Hm. Number 1:

I haven’t always been a wimp on planes

That developed with age.

Today, I’m a nervous flyer; a bit of turbulence and I’m white-knuckling the arm of the stranger next to me. That wasn’t always true. I logged serious miles in small aircraft with my brother as a teen and with one of my boyfriends in my thirties. My brother got his pilot’s license at 18, and he loved to fly small fixed wing craft around the province of Ontario. From time to time, he’d take his little sister along.

The best of those trips was up to Ottawa, Canada’s capitol, where we buzzed the Parliament buildings. If that were anything like buzzing the U.S…
