Sometimes, what happened to me is strange but it did actually happen and was tagged "memoir" or "this happened to me," so I wondered if you included me in this group and thought I should ask. I also often do the opposite--fictionalize things that did happen by writing them from the perspective of an animal or inanimate object. Like a recent piece about never wearing pants with zippers again that was written from the perspective of my pull on pants. But if you look in my closet, you will see all the clothes and shoes that are characters in my story.
