ME: Noah? Is that you? The door’s open. Come on in. I’m in the kitchen.

NOAH: [drops backpack on floor, flings himself into a chair, eyes glued to phone screen while texting nonstop] Hey, Aunt Barbara.

ME: Dinner’s at seven. I’m making spaghetti and meatballs. Do you want a smoothie or something?

NOAH: Nah, I’m good. Hey, can I ask you something?

ME: Sure! What’s up?

NOAH: Mom told me you and Uncle Kim met on a dating app, but you guys have been married like forever. Were there really dating apps back whenever?

ME: In fact, there were.

NOAH: I thought there weren’t even any phones before 2000-something. I have to write an essay on obsolete technology, so I thought of you.

ME: Thanks.

NOAH: Can you tell me what technology you and Uncle Kim used to meet each other?

ME: Sure. Wow. I haven’t thought about this in years. I guess I can talk and cook at the same time.

NOAH: [pulls out notebook and pencil]
