Kicking off the First of August With A Few of July’s Best
It’s not about always about me
Last month, busy with work and a condensed-term class for my master’s degree, I managed to publish only about half the articles I usually do. That’s okay. If I count the five papers I wrote for class, my writing output was no less than usual, just a bit less public. Now, I have three weeks before my fall class starts. I plan to make the most of it by taking a quick summer break, scaling back on a volunteer editing gig, and just kicking back a bit on weekends instead of doing my best impression of Taz, the Tasmanian devil.
No matter what my writing output does, I still prioritize my reading. By the time I’ve had my morning oatmeal, I’ve put in at least an hour of devouring, applauding for, and commenting on other Medium writers’ work. For every article I publish, I’ve read 100, applauded for fifty, and commented on twenty.
