Jelly,
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I'm sure many people have had similar, but what we see most often now is experiences like yours summed up as one line in a raving article about this "miracle" drug. Amid the raving--blink, and you miss it--"some people experience side effects," or "you have to stay on it the rest of your life or you'll gain back the weight." All the hype aside, this is like every other "miracle" weight loss drug that's part of a multi-billion dollar industry that preys on our fears and manufactured shame over not having a thin body. I'm sure that after it's been mainstream for awhile, the shoe will drop. Then, in America at least, there will be a rash of personal injury attorneys rounding up people who sustained lifelong health issues or whose family members died because of it.
A drug for a different condition, in this case, diabetes used off label because it has the side effect of weight loss for some, has not been studied scientifically for long term effects and when we learn them, I'm sure they won't be good. We've been there before many times.
Try to be kind to yourself. I know, it's hard. I had eating disorders for 40 years of my life and finally stopped dieting three or four years ago. I'm still recovering, and most days I still wish I were 20 pounds lighter but mostly I'm so relieved I'm off the dieting treadmill.
