I Was Born a Baby Boomer But What Am I Now?

Does the year we were born define us? Maybe a little. Maybe a lot. Maybe not at all. It depends what happens after.

Who are Boomers?

Boomers are the generation born between 1946 and 1964, the so-called “baby boom” that happened after World War II ended and military service people, predominantly men, came home, got degrees and/or jobs, got married, bought homes, and raised families. During the baby boom, between three and four million babies were born each year. The number of baby boomers in the U.S., including immigrants of Boomer age, peaked at close to 80 million in 1999.

A typical Boomer is hard-working and competitive. They value relationships and their independence, and pursue excellence and quality. They are interested in products that improve health, lifestyle, and wealth as they navigate or approach retirement. The majority own smartphones and use social media. Importantly, boomers do not consider themselves “old.” Many are still working or actively traveling, volunteering, and contributing.
