I love Mrs. Maisel, and have been avidly watching it since the pilot. The dialogue is so quick and sharp it's worth a re-watch just to catch some of the gems the second time around. I was a little kid in the 60s and not Jewish, but still identify with the pop culture and Midge Maisel's attempt to break out of a very tight box women were squeezed into for hundreds of years. Women can't be independent, they can't be raunchy but classy, they can't have sex outside of marriage and a woman's primary job is wife and mother. It's refreshing to see a period piece take this on in not just the Midge character but also her mother Rose and her ex-husband's girlfriend.
As for Succession, I struggle to like it as it is too dark for my taste and rich people behaving badly don't interest me (also why I didn't like The White Lotus).
Thanks for a great review!
