I learned it that "embarass" would be wrong because "bare ass" (one r).

…, embarrass. I immediately intuit that “embaras” and “embarras” are wrong (they look too weird). So I’m left with “embarrass” and “embarass” and I always pick the wrong one.

I learned it that "embarass" would be wrong because "bare ass" (one r). So I add the second "r" so as to not embarrass myself with a "...barass."
