I felt the same way when I returned to Toronto's lakeshore a few years ago. Now it's a forest of high-rise condos and highly manicured lakeshore and you have to go west of town to almost the border of the next town over to find unimproved green areas. I took pictures and plan to post them sometime in an article, comparing them with what they were when I was growing up.
