I agree. Trump may well become a martyr for the MAGA cult, but neither JD Vance or any other mainstream republican pol out there today has Trump's weird charisma. I think the cult following will wander lost in the desert for a while and then glom onto the next demagogue, but I'm hoping we can put forth our own charismatic (but principled) leader to which at least those on the fringes of the cult can move.
