I agree. I think it's like anything else -- you get out of it what you put into it. I think many of us are not here for fame and fortune but simply to exercise our writing muscles. Publishing on Medium has made me a better writer. Having my work edited by publication editors is a growth serum for me as a writer. I've now published in five different publications although my go-to is the Garroulous Galwegian's Authentic Eclectic because the tage line, "open your veins and write" speaks to me. Reading others' points of view of so very many topics has made me better informed about what's in others' heads.
