Having worked retail (a department store housewares department) years ago, I know that Black Friday (or any sale) is the day you haul the same outdated discontinued (for good reason) crap out of storage that you tried to sell at the last sale and hope this time somebody bites. Then after the sale you haul 90% of it back into the storeroom for the next sale. The good stuff is moderately discounted at about 20-30% and you don't need to get up at the crack of dawn for that. In fact, most stores will honor an expired coupon or let you bring in your receipt after the sale so you can get the sale price. So there is never, ever any reason to either shop on Thanksgiving or get up with the roosters on Black Friday. Get some sleep and watch the football games!
