What has also helped me drop off to sleep quickly after a bout of insomnia is 4-7-8 breathing (https://www.inc.com/jessica-stillman/sleep-technique-andrew-weil-university-arizona.html?utm_source=nextdraft&utm_medium=email) or 4-4-4 box breathing, which is relaxing.
