Fun article. I grew up in Canada, and, as subjects of Her Majesty, we shared many of the traits you describe of Brits. There was less culture shock when I moved to the U.S., but still, in comparison with Canada/other Commonwealth countries (and, of course, grossly generalizing): shitty beer, over-familiarity with strangers, complete disinterest in any politics or current events other than their own, huge, disgusting portions of food (waste!), Lipton "tea" = dirt water, expensive private healthcare tied to employment or God help you if you get sick, and car culture/lousy public transportation in most cities. I do love my adopted country (I've been a citizen for about 15 years) but, still, many things I miss.
