Except that the US Big Three -- especially Ford and GMC/Chevy -- are now offering quite respectable EVs from economy (Bolt/Volt) to luxury (Cadillac Lyriq). The only worry they have is tariffs on the same imported parts I imagine Tesla uses. No US-based car company uses 100 percent American made parts. Doesn't matter to Musk--he will pass on the tariff costs to his customers without losing a wink of sleep--but it does level the playing field for the US EV market.
