Between 2001 and 2010, I had a document production business. Mostly I wrote the content on behalf of doctors and attorneys, but I also did some dictated medical transcription when I had a bit of extra time. One transcription company out of Florida had such a draconian pay structure with so many deductions built into an already-below market pay scale that I was paid virtually nothing. After I quit, they kept contacting me to come back. Unbelievable what they think they can get away with.
