As time goes on, I am starting to regret my U.S.. Citizenship. I became a citizen in 2008 and was proud to vote for President Obama, twice. In 2015, when trump became the candidate, I thought it was obvious he was a joke and completely unqualified. When he was elected, I hoped he might grow into the role but as we know, that didn't happen. I was horrified when he wasn't convicted at both impeachments and then wasn't convicted and imprisoned for January 6 and all the events leading up to it. Seeing him get elected, twice, is enough to banish the illusion of American greatness. We are, apparently, a nation whose majority is the idiots who voted for him or the apathetic people who didn't bother voting at all. Nothing to be proud of, here, except those who resisted and continue to resist his reign of error, which is a reign of terror for immigrants and minorities. An embarrassment. If I travel outside of this country, I'll call myself what I am, someone born in Canada who happens to live here.
